Privacy policy
The short version: the only information we hold about you is what you type into the contact form or send us in an email. There are no cookies on this site, no analytics, and nothing that follows you anywhere else.
LAST UPDATED 26 AUGUST 2026
Who we are
Steezeweb designs, builds and hosts websites for small businesses. For the purposes of UK data protection law we are the data controller for the information described on this page.
You can reach us about anything on this page at hello@steezeweb.co.uk.
What we collect, and when
We only collect personal information in two situations.
When you use the contact form
The form asks for your name, your email address, an optional phone number, and a description of what you need. We collect exactly those fields and nothing else. We do not ask for, and have no use for, payment details, dates of birth, or anything similar.
When you email us directly
If you write to us, we hold whatever you choose to tell us, in our inbox or in our notes, for as long as we are talking about the work.
Why we hold it, and on what legal basis
We use your information for one purpose: to answer your enquiry and, if you go ahead, to do the work and stay in touch about it.
- Taking steps at your request before entering a contract covers replying to your enquiry with an approach, a price and a date.
- Performing a contract covers everything after you say yes.
- Legitimate interests covers keeping ordinary business records, and keeping the site secure.
We do not use your information for marketing, we do not build a profile of you, and we will never sell or rent it to anybody.
Who else sees it
Two other companies are involved in a contact form submission, and no others.
- Formspree receives the form submission and forwards it to our inbox. Formspree, Inc. is based in the United States, so your message is transferred outside the UK. That transfer relies on the safeguards in Formspree's own data processing terms. You can read their privacy policy at formspree.io/legal/privacy-policy.
- Our email provider stores the message once it arrives with us, in the same way it stores any other email we receive.
This site is hosted by Hostinger (Hostinger International Ltd, Lithuania), who keep standard server access logs. Those record things like the IP address a request came from, the page requested and the time. They are kept for security and troubleshooting, they are not linked to anything else, and we do not use them to identify individual visitors. You can read Hostinger's privacy policy at hostinger.com/legal/privacy-policy.
Cookies and tracking
This site sets no cookies. There is no analytics, no advertising, no tracking pixels, no session storage and no fingerprinting.
There are also no third-party requests of any kind. The fonts are served from this site rather than from Google, so no other company learns that you visited. That is why you have not been shown a cookie banner: there is nothing to consent to.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry messages while we are in contact about the work, and for a reasonable period afterwards in case you come back to us. If an enquiry does not go anywhere, we delete it once it is clearly no longer live. Records relating to work we have actually done are kept for as long as we are required to keep business and tax records.
If you would like your enquiry deleted sooner, ask us and we will do it.
Your rights
Under the UK GDPR you have the right to:
- ask what we hold about you, and get a copy of it
- have anything inaccurate corrected
- have it deleted
- ask us to restrict what we do with it
- object to us holding it on the basis of legitimate interests
- receive it in a portable format
Email hello@steezeweb.co.uk and we will deal with it. We do not charge for this, and we will respond within one month.
If you are not happy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We would rather you told us first so we can put it right.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page changes with it. We will not quietly alter it and hope nobody notices.
